Skin Boosters stimulates the activity of cells in the deeper layers of the skin to produce more collagen and elastin which counteracts skin laxity as well attracting water to hydrate the skin. They are commonly used on the face and neck, but can also be used on the décolletage, hands and abdomen. 

Profhilo

Profhilo is a biostimulator made with non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. It’s a great product when you need a moisture surge and radiance boosting appearance, however it doesn’t lead to textural changes in the skin and it’s not a filler. It doesn't work by stimulating collagen, it stimulates adipocytes which are fat cells. It's great to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin in the face and on crepey skin (thin and finely wrinkled) on the neck.

 

The effects of Profhilo are relatively short lasting with treatments needed to be repeated twice a year. A Profhilo treatment is perfect before a big event where you need to look radiant with treatments affects visible in just a few days. A treatment consists of 5 injections (known as BAP points) to each side of the face.

 

For those under 45 years old two treatments are required 28 days apart, for those older than 45, you may need three treatments before a six-month break. it is relatively painless and there is no downtime after treatment. However, you should refrain from wearing make up for the rest of the day.

 

It’s not good to use under the eyes particularly if you have malar bags as hyaluronic acid attract water and can make the bags appear worse.

Sunekos

Sunekos is another hyaluronic acid product combined with amino acids which stimulates regeneration of the extracellular matrix and collagen in the skin. Studies have shown that shortly after treatment, there is a significant improvement in skin hydration and facial volume and 35% reduction in wrinkle intensity. This is a great alternative for those who don’t wish to have botulinum toxin or Botox treatment.

 

Sunekos is a good treatment for the décolletage, neck and face and can also be used under-eye for dry, grey thinned skin.


You could consider starting Sunekos treatment in the early to mid 30s. Younger clients may require 2 to 3 treatments every 2-4 weeks and then take a six-month break. Older clients may benefit from 4 treatments every 2 weeks. Treatment packages are available.

 

Contraindications to treatment include pregnancy and breastfeeding, active autoimmune diseases, tendency to hypertrophic scars, on any inflammation in the skin, such as herpes or acne.

Jalupro is similar to Sunekos, it also contains and amino acids and come as a freeze-dried product to be reconstituted with hyaluronic acid. This is another good product like Profhilo that can be treated using BAP points with 2 to 3 treatments every 10 days. This is a bio-revitalisation product, stimulating collagen and other growth factors to restore skin quality. Both Jalupro and Sunekos can be combined with 20 units of botox for A refreshing glow.

These products are suitable for sun damage skin, acne scarring, the decolletage and hands to improve skin laxity and appearance. There are minimal side effects including itching, heat and swelling, as well as bruising that might occur with any injectable.

Jalupro

Exosomes

Exosomes are derived from stem cells and are potentially the future or regenerative aesthetics. Exosomes signal to dormant cells in the skin to continue producing collagen and elastin to maintain youthful looking skin. Exosomes can be used after micro needling and facials.

Nucleofill

Nucleofill is a biostimulator that utilises highly purified polynucleotides from salmon DNA. They work by rejuvenating the skin, lifting and tightening wrinkles to help smooth and hydrate the skin. This is an alternative to those who do not wish or cannot use hyaluronic acid. There are three products for use at Wandsworth Aesthetics

 

  • Nucleofill Strong

  • Nucleofill Medium

  • Nucleofill Soft Plus for the eyes

 

Both Nucleofill Strong and Medium can be used to help hydrate the skin of the face using BAP points. We recommend 4 to 6 treatments two weeks apart with maintenance treatments at six months. Nucleofill Soft Plus eyes has been specifically designed for the under-eye area to treat dark circles and wrinkles. We recommend 4 treatments 2 to 3 weeks apart prior to a six-month break.
